Geoff Wilson joins HSBC Australia Board

Mr Wilson worked for the majority of his career at KPMG, holding a variety of roles in Australia and overseas until his retirement from the firm in 2017.

He was most recently Chief Operating Officer of KPMG Asia Pacific between 2013 and 2017, based in Hong Kong, and was also Head of Markets Asia Pacific during that period. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer of KPMG Australia between 2008 and 2013.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Toll Group, Future Generation Global Investment Company Ltd and ipSCAPE Pty Ltd, and is also a member of the Advisory Council for the University of NSW Business School and an Ambassador for the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.

Commenting on the appointment, Graham Bradley AM, HSBC Australia’s Chairman, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Geoff to the Board as a Non-Executive Director. He brings more than 35 years’ of executive experience spanning Australia, Asia and the US.

“His insight and leadership skills, combined with his deep professional capabilities in audit, risk management and governance, will be an asset for the Board as we continue to pursue HSBC’s growth strategy in Australia,” he said.
