Grant King joins HSBC Australia Board

HSBC Bank Australia Limited (HSBC Australia) has announced the appointment of Grant King to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, with effect from 1 April 2019.

Mr King was Managing Director of Origin Energy Ltd between 2000 and 2016, following its demerger from Boral, where he was Managing Director of Boral Energy between 1994 and 2000.

He is the former Chairman of Contact Energy Ltd, Australia Pacific LNG, Oil Company of Australia Ltd and the Energy Supply Association of Australia (esaa). He is also a former Director of BHP Billiton Limited, Envestra Ltd and the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association Ltd (APPEA).

Mr King is currently the President of the Business Council of Australia.  He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

• Graham Bradley AM: Chairman, Independent Non-Executive Director

• Carol Austin: Independent Non-Executive Director

• Jann Skinner: Independent Non-Executive Director

• Grant King: Independent Non-Executive Director

• Kenneth Ng: Independent Non-Executive Director

• Martin Tricaud: Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Australia

• Matthew Lobner: Non-Executive Director, Head of International and Head of Strategy and Planning, Asia Pacific, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited
