HSBC has cemented its position as Australia’s leading international bank, for ten years and counting. The bank ranks number one for overall domestic market penetration amongst all international banks, according to the 2021 Peter Lee Associates Large Corporate and Institutional Relationship Banking Survey.
The survey interviewed 590 Australian based large corporate institutions, making it the largest corporate and institutional relationship banking survey run in Australia and New Zealand.
Clients ranked banks across a variety of indicators in corporate and institutional banking in Australia, covering relationship banking, transactional banking and debt securities origination.
Findings from the survey also revealed HSBC as number one for lead banking relationships amongst all international banks for the fourth year in a row.
Commenting on the results, Hamish Kelly, Head of Global Banking, Australia at HSBC, said: “We have an important role to play in helping our portfolio of customers thrive in the low carbon transition and building a more sustainable future.
“The outstanding Peter Lee survey results reflect our active, and ongoing, role in helping corporate customers achieve their goals.”
Steve Hughes, Head of Commercial Banking, Australia at HSBC, noted: “Importantly, our strongfocus on clients has shone in the survey. Almost three quarters of clients recognised our support during the pandemic, as well as our ability to open a world of opportunity to international markets.
